Four VMK models, four slightly different button logics. This is the article you wish you'd found before spending five minutes pressing the wrong button. Find your model and press correctly.

VMK25 and VMK25.2
- Power: power button, 2 s to turn on and 4 s to turn off on the VMK25; keep holding the button (about 5 s total) to open pairing mode
- + and −: short press adjusts volume, long press skips tracks
- ANC button (left earcup): one press turns ANC on, second press switches to transparency mode, third press turns it off
- Calls: a short press of the power button answers and ends calls
- Reset: VMK25 = plug in and unplug the AUX cable; VMK25.2 = hold + and − for 3 s ("du du")
- Special quirk: plugging in the AUX cable turns off Bluetooth and the ANC button still works, but you cannot adjust the volume from the headphones. Use the volume control on your source device.
VMK20
- Power: power button, press for about 5 s
- + and −: volume on a short press, track skip on a long press
- ANC button: on/off. IMPORTANT: ANC doesn't turn off with the power, remember to turn it off separately or it'll quietly drain the battery in the background
- Reset: plug the 3.5 mm AUX cable in and unplug it again. That is the VMK20's reset method and it clears the Bluetooth chip.
- Multipoint: yes, and if the headphones start beeping on their own, they're missing the paired device they've lost track of. Forget the device from its Bluetooth menu.
VMK15
All the buttons are on the left earcup, and the braille reference dots are on the left side of the headband:
- Blind spot: the topmost "button" doesn't do anything, it's a reference point so your finger knows where it is
- ANC button: on/off, a green light inside the earcup lights up when ANC is on
- Vol+ / Vol−: short press adjusts volume, long press skips tracks
- MFB (center button): 3 s to turn on, keep holding for another 3 s to enter pairing mode, 3 s to turn off; during a call a short press answers or ends it, a long press rejects it and two quick presses mute the mic; when you are not on a call, two quick presses wake your voice assistant
- Pairing: the PIN is 0000 if asked
- Reset: hold both Vol+ and Vol− down for about 5 seconds
The most common "button doesn't work" situations
- Press too short: three seconds is longer than you think. Count it out slowly.
- Wrong model's instructions: the VMK25.2 reset combo does nothing on the VMK25, and vice versa.
- ANC button "not working" in a quiet room: ANC is working, there's just nothing to cancel. Test it near a fan or traffic.
- Button genuinely stuck: clean around the button with a dry cloth. If it stays stuck, get in touch: info@valco.fi.
