We know exactly why you're here. Some company you've never heard of claims to make better headphones than Sony or Bose, at half the price. Sounds too good to be true. And usually it is. Just not this time.
We're a small company. We can't afford to pay celebrities to wear our headphones through airports. What we have instead is thousands of customers who paid with their own money and wrote reviews without anyone asking them to. Or paying them to.
What the reviews actually say
Valco products have over 3,600 reviews in our online store, and the average is 4.7 stars (as of August 2026). But averages are boring. Let's look at what people actually write.
The most common comment on the VMK25 series goes something like: "I didn't believe it, but these genuinely sound better than the 400 euro headphones I used before." Jasse, our sound designer whose ears are literally insured, tunes the sound profile of every model himself. You can hear it.
Another recurring theme is repairability. Customers are genuinely surprised that you can twist the ear pads off and swap them yourself. Or that a broken pair of headphones can be sent to our repair shop in Kajaani instead of straight into the bin.
What about the negative reviews?
There are plenty, and we don't hide them. The most common complaints:
- The ANC isn't on Sony's level. True. If you want the absolute best noise cancellation on the market, the Sony WH-1000XM5 wins. We win on sound quality, and on the fact that you won't have to toss your headphones in two years.
- The app could be better. Also true. A small company doesn't have Apple's app development budget. But Valco Updater (Android) does exactly what it promises: updates the firmware on the VMK25.2 and VMK15. More is coming in the next version.
- Shipping took a while. Sometimes it does. We're a small company, and every now and then stock runs out because demand exceeds what Henri budgeted for after his Alfa Romeo repair bills. We always give honest shipping estimates.
We don't delete bad reviews. If someone leaves one star, it sits there with all the rest. Censorship is a big-company thing.
Why people trust us
Not because we're perfect. Because we admit it when we're not.
Valco comes with a 24 month warranty and our own repair service. Headband models get repaired, and a faulty earbud or speaker under warranty is swapped for a working one. If we mess up, we say so. If a competitor beats us at something, we say that too, like we just did above.
We've sold our products in 67 different countries. Reviews in Germany are just as good as in Finland, which says something, Germans aren't exactly known for being easy to please.

How to leave a review
Everyone who buys gets a review invite by email after a short delay, so you actually have time to try the product before handing out stars, and it helps us filter out random spammers.
