Klarna is a bit like that friend who promises to help with the move but then won’t pick up the phone. Sometimes it just doesn’t show up at checkout, even though last time everything worked flawlessly. Annoying, but usually explainable.
Why is Klarna hiding?
Klarna’s availability isn’t entirely in our hands. Klarna runs its own risk assessment for every purchase, and sometimes it decides not to offer itself as a payment option. There are several reasons:
- Country and region: Klarna doesn’t work in all countries. If your address or IP address points to a country where Klarna doesn’t operate, the option disappears from checkout entirely.
- Klarna’s own risk assessment: Klarna evaluates each purchase individually. Sometimes it rejects the payment based on its own criteria—and doesn’t tell us why. We can’t influence this, because Klarna is an independent service.
- Browser or cookie issue: Old cookies or browser settings may mess up the checkout view.
- Order contents or amount: With certain totals or product combinations, Klarna may limit its availability.
In short: Klarna decides for itself whom it shows up for. We offer it at checkout, but we can’t force it to appear.
How to try to get Klarna to appear
- Check your address details – Make sure the country, postal code, and address are correct. Even a small error can confuse Klarna.
- Try another browser – If you’re using Chrome, try Firefox or vice versa. Clear cookies while you’re at it.
- Try another device – Phone vs. computer. Sometimes the issue is surprisingly device-specific.
- Wait a bit – Klarna’s risk assessment can change. If it doesn’t work today, it might work tomorrow. I know, not a very satisfying answer.
- Check your Klarna account – If you have a Klarna account, log in and see if there are any open payments or restrictions.
If Klarna refuses to cooperate
If nothing helps, you have options:
- Pay by card – Classic and reliable. Visa, Mastercard—these don’t run risk assessments at checkout.
- Another payment method – Checkout offers other options depending on the country.
- Contact us – Send a message to info@valco.fi and we’ll see if anything can be done. Also tell us which browser you used, which country you’re in, and what you saw at checkout.
Unfortunately, we don’t have access to Klarna’s systems, so we can’t directly overturn their decisions. But we’ll help you find a way to get those NL21 buds in your ears—after all, those Death Star installment plans need to be financed somehow.
