The headphones have been repaired, sent back, and now they’re lying in some Matkahuolto locker like a forgotten lunchbox. Frustrating. Especially when you know they’re in there – but the locker refuses to let them go.
This is an annoyingly common situation, but fortunately solvable.
Why is the package stuck?
The most common reasons are fairly mundane:
- The pickup code hasn't arrived. Matkahuolto sends the pickup code by text message or email to the person whose details are on the shipment. If your husband placed the repair order, the code may have gone to him and not to you.
- The locker has changed location or is full. Sometimes the package is routed to a different locker than you expected, or the locker is simply full.
- The pickup window is about to expire. Matkahuolto lockers usually have a pickup period of a few days. If it expires, the package is moved to a Matkahuolto warehouse to wait.
How to get the headphones out
- Check the tracking number. We email the shipment tracking details when the repair is finished. If someone else (e.g., your spouse) placed the order, ask them to check their email.
- Check the tracking details on Matkahuolto's website. Go to matkahuolto.fi and enter the tracking number. There you’ll see where the package physically is and what its status is.
- Contact Matkahuolto. Call Matkahuolto customer service or visit the pickup point in person. Provide the tracking number, and they’ll dig out the package. If the locker doesn't work, the staff can retrieve the package manually.
- Request a redirection. If the pickup period has expired or the locker is inconvenient, Matkahuolto can route the package to another pickup point.
If that doesn't help
If Matkahuolto can't find the package, the tracking number doesn't work or the situation otherwise feels hopeless, send us a message at info@valco.fi. Tell us your order number and what's going on, and we’ll sort it out. We know what was sent and where.
We don’t leave repaired headphones in a Matkahuolto locker forever. That would be like fixing a car and leaving it in a parking lot to rust – pretty silly business.
And remember: we repaired those headphones precisely so they wouldn’t have to be thrown away. It would be a shame if they were left to rot in a locker just because the text message went to the wrong number.
