So the VMK25 didn't quite hit the right note, and you want to return them. No worries. Even though it stings a little – every return is one step further from the Death Star – a return is a return. Let's get it sorted.
Right of return in a nutshell
Finnish consumer protection law gives you 14 days to cancel an online purchase. The clock starts from the day you got the package in your hands (or your neighbour took it in and forgot to mention it for a week). This applies to all products ordered from the Valco online store – including the VMK25 headphones.
The condition is that the headphones are in a state where they can be resold. So trying them out is fine – encouraged, even – but if they look like you've been jogging in the rain with them for three weeks, that's a different story.
How to return your VMK25 headphones
- Send a return request by email to info@valco.fi
- Include in your message:
- Order number (you'll find it in your order confirmation)
- The product you're returning (e.g. VMK25 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones)
- Your bank account IBAN for the refund
- We'll reply with return instructions and the return address
- Pack the headphones in the original packaging with all accessories (AUX cable, USB-C charging cable, carrying pouch – everything that came in the box)
- Ship the package according to the instructions
We'll process the refund once the package has arrived and been inspected. This usually takes a few business days.
A few practical things
- Shipping costs: Return postage is your responsibility, unless the product is faulty.
- Original packaging: Please keep the box and protective materials. Headphones arriving in a plastic bag with no accessories give us grey hairs – and we've got plenty of those already.
- The 14-day rule: If the return window has passed, we unfortunately can't accept the return. Unless the headphones are faulty – that's a warranty matter, and that's a whole different thing.
Before you return – a quick question
If the reason for returning is that the noise cancelling didn't meet your expectations: ANC effectively removes low frequencies like airplane hum or air conditioning noise. It won't completely eliminate speech or children screaming – no headphone on this planet does that. Stick some music on and it gets significantly better. Worth giving it one more go before sending them back.
If the reason is something else, then fair enough – fire off that email and we'll sort it out. We'd rather have a happy former customer than an unhappy current one. And maybe you'll come back someday. The Death Star isn't going to build itself.
