Using the wired connection
The VMK15 comes with a 3.5mm audio cable for wired use. This is handy for in-flight entertainment systems or whenever Bluetooth isn't an option.
1. Find the 3.5mm port on the left ear cup.
2. Plug one end of the audio cable into the headphones and the other end into your device.
3. The Bluetooth connection drops automatically when you plug in the cable.
Working without power
One of the VMK15's most convenient features: wired, the headphones work even without a battery. If the battery runs out mid-flight, just plug in the cable and the music keeps going.
Note that ANC does not work without power. In wired mode without a battery, the headphones function as regular passive headphones.
If the headphones are powered on in wired mode, ANC works normally.
Sound quality wired
The wired connection bypasses Bluetooth codecs entirely, so in theory sound quality may be slightly better. In practice the difference is small for most listeners.
If you use the headphones with a computer for audio work or gaming, the wired connection eliminates Bluetooth latency entirely.
