Activating ANC
The VMK15 has an ANC button on the right ear cup. Press it once to cycle through ANC modes.
ANC on: You hear a beep and background noise fades. Great for the office, train, or plane.
ANC off: You hear a second beep. You can hear your surroundings normally.
When to use ANC?
ANC works best against steady, low-frequency sounds: engine hum, air conditioning noise, train vibration. It is not a magic wand that removes all sounds (that technology has not been invented yet).
Speech and sudden sounds will still come through — this is normal and not a fault.
Do not use ANC outdoors in wind. Wind causes a rushing sound in the ANC microphones, which is unpleasant. Turn ANC off in windy conditions.
ANC and sound quality
ANC uses a little extra battery, but the difference is not dramatic.
Some users notice a slight difference in sound quality when ANC is on — this is because of how ANC processes audio. It is normal.
If the fit is not right (the ear pads don’t seal properly), ANC will not work optimally. Make sure the headphones sit snugly on your head.
