A classic. You're somewhere in Barcelona or at Berlin airport, patting your pockets and realizing the charging case was left in the taxi, on the hotel nightstand, or fell into a street drain. The buds are in your ears, maybe an hour of battery left, and there's no way to charge them anywhere. It feels like realizing you left your passport at home — only cheaper to fix.
No worries. This is fixable.
Why this is a problem
NL25 earbuds charge only in their own charging case. The case is not just a storage box; it acts as a charger, a Bluetooth pairing reset tool, and protection for the buds. Without the case, the buds are basically expensive earplugs once the battery runs out.
And no, the case from another pair of NL25s won't necessarily work with your buds without pairing. So you can't just borrow your friend's case.
What to do
- Don't throw the buds away. They're perfectly fine; they just need a home.
- Order a new charging case from Valco's online store at valco.fi. We sell the case separately as a spare part precisely for situations like this. It's not our first rodeo.
- If the earbuds are under warranty (24 months from purchase) and the case broke on its own and didn't end up in a drain with your help, contact info@valco.fi. Provide your order number and what happened. We'll see what we can do.
- If the case was lost due to your own actions — fell out of a pocket, left at the hotel, the dog ate it — unfortunately that's not a warranty matter. But you can buy a new case separately, so the world hasn't ended.
When the new case arrives
The new case needs to be paired with the buds. Do this:
- Place the buds in the new case
- Open the case lid
- Hold the case button for 5 seconds — this performs a factory reset
- The buds will flash and enter pairing mode
- Connect the buds to your phone from Bluetooth settings as usual
By the way, the lid has an opening notch on one side. Don't pry at the hinge, or your next support ticket will be about a broken lid.
If that doesn't help
If the new case doesn't charge the buds or pairing fails, send a message to info@valco.fi. Include your order number, describe the situation, and attach a photo if possible. Our service team in Kajaani will sort it out.
