How do I get my Nordell Micro serviced or repaired?
The Nordell Micro is a tough little speaker, but life is rough. A kid launched it at a wall, the dog used it as a chew toy, or a button got pushed in while it was in your pocket. The reason doesn't matter – we'll fix it. At Valco, electronics don't get thrown in the bin.
Warranty or repair package?
First, let's figure out which situation we're dealing with.
- Warranty repair (24 months): If the device stopped working on its own and there's no external damage, the warranty covers the repair. You'll need your order number or other proof of purchase.
- Repair package (out of warranty): If the warranty has expired or the issue is caused by your own use – button pushed in, battery dead, USB port mangled – you can buy a repair package. The price depends on the fault, but we'll tell you upfront.
If your warranty expired last week, don't panic. We're not a soulless corporation counting days on our fingers.
How to get your device serviced
- Send an email to info@valco.fi. Tell us what's wrong and include:
- A photo of the issue (doesn't need to be a masterpiece, just show the problem)
- Order number or batch code (found on the bottom of the speaker, format e.g. VMK20-XXXXX)
- Your return address
- Wait for our reply. We'll let you know whether it's a warranty repair or a repair package and what it'll cost.
- Ship the device to Kajaani. We'll give you the exact address and instructions. For warranty repairs, we cover the postage. For repair packages, that's on you.
- Our service team fixes it and sends it back. Jasse and the rest of the crew work their magic in Kajaani.
Frequently asked questions about repairs
- Can the USB port be swapped from Micro-USB to USB-C? The Nordell Micro already has USB-C, so you don't have this problem. On older models, swapping the port unfortunately isn't possible – it would require a complete redesign of the circuit board.
- What if I live abroad? We repair devices from all over the world. Ship it to Kajaani and we'll send it back. International postage is on the customer's tab, but the repair itself is free during the warranty period.
- How long does a repair take? Usually a few business days after the device arrives. The postal service is the slow link in the chain.
If nothing helps
If you're not sure whether the device is actually broken or if it's something else entirely, drop us a message anyway. Sometimes the fix is simple – Bluetooth won't connect because the speaker is looking for another device, or the sound is quiet because the volume is at zero. We'll sort those out too.
