The Nordell Micro is a good speaker. Then you saw the MK3 with its 2x 20W power, IPX7 water resistance and stereo pairing, and now the Micro feels a bit like driving a Corolla while your neighbor's got a Camaro. Understandable.
Why can't I trade it in?
We don't do direct product swaps from one model to another. The reason is simple: the Nordell Micro and the Nordell MK3 are different products at different prices, and our logistics don't run on barter economics. We're not a flea market, even if it might look like one sometimes.
If you ordered the Micro recently and the box is still unopened, the return window is 14 days. Return the Micro, get your money back, and order the MK3 separately. Simple as that.
If the Micro has been in use for a while, though, a trade-in isn't possible. But hey, that means you've now got two speakers. One for the kitchen, one for the terrace. Or one for you and one as a gift for someone you tolerate just enough.
Here's what to do
- Micro is less than 14 days old: Return it under the standard return policy and order the MK3 from the webshop.
- Micro is used but you want the MK3 anyway: Order the MK3 separately from valco.fi. No need to return the Micro anywhere.
- Budget's a concern: The MK3 is also available on installment. Gotta fund those child support payments and 0.000001% of the Death Star somehow.
Why is the MK3 worth upgrading to?
If the Micro has felt good, the MK3 feels better. A few highlights:
- 2x 20W power : The Micro is smaller and quieter. The MK3 fills the room.
- IPX7 water resistance : Survives being submerged up to a meter. So yes, it'll survive you dropping it on the dock too.
- Stereo pairing : Buy two MK3s and pair them as a stereo set. Now we're talking a whole different league of sound.
- 5200 mAh battery : 8 to 10 hours of playback. Enough for one long night or two short ones.
- USB-C charging : No micro-USB nonsense.
The Micro is still an excellent little speaker, though. It didn't get worse just because the MK3 exists.
