The Nordell Micro is a good speaker. Then you saw the MK3 with its 2x 20W output, IPX7 water resistance and stereo pairing – and now the Micro feels a bit like driving a Corolla when your neighbour's got a Camaro. Understandable.
Why can't I just swap?
We don't do direct product swaps from one model to another. The reason is simple: the Nordell Micro and Nordell MK3 are different products, at different price points, and our logistics don't run on barter economy principles. We're not a car boot sale – even if it might look like it sometimes.
If you ordered the Micro recently and the package is still unopened, your return right is valid for 30 days. Return the Micro, get your money back, and order the MK3 separately. Easy peasy.
If the Micro has been in use for a while, a swap isn't possible. But hey – then you've got two speakers. One for the kitchen, one for the patio. Or one for yourself and one as a gift for someone you tolerate just about enough.
Here's what to do
- Micro is under 30 days old and unopened: Return it under the normal return policy and order the MK3 from the online store.
- Micro is used but you want the MK3: Order the MK3 separately at valco.fi. No need to return the Micro anywhere.
- Budget's a concern: The MK3 is also available on installments. Gotta finance those child support payments and the Death Star's 0.000001% somehow.
Why the MK3 is worth the upgrade
If the Micro felt good, the MK3 feels better. A few key points:
- 2x 20W output – The Micro is smaller and quieter. The MK3 fills the room.
- IPX7 water resistance – Survives submersion up to one metre. So yes, it'll survive that tumble off the dock too.
- Stereo pairing – Buy two MK3s and pair them up in stereo. Now we're talking a whole different league of sound.
- 5200 mAh battery – 8-10 hours of playtime. Enough for one long evening or two short ones.
- USB-C charging – None of that micro-USB messing about.
The Micro is still an excellent little speaker, by the way. It didn't become worse just because the MK3 exists.
