Physical controls
The Nordell Max has dedicated buttons for bass and treble on top of the speaker: BASS + and -, TREBLE + and -. This is fairly rare for a Bluetooth speaker of this size, so make the most of it!
The BASS buttons handle low frequencies. Press plus for more thump, minus if the bass feels too dominant.
The TREBLE buttons handle high frequencies. Press plus for a brighter, more detailed sound, minus if the sound feels too sharp.
If your tweaks went sideways, press and hold the M button for about 4 seconds: the EQ returns to its default settings.
Recommended settings
For music: Start from neutral and adjust from there to your taste. For heavier music you can add a good dose of bass.
For podcasts and speech: Reduce the bass slightly and boost the treble. This makes speech clearer.
For outdoor use: Sound disperses more easily outside, so you can push both a little higher than normal.
Remember, there’s no arguing about taste — the right settings are the ones that sound good to you!
