At Valco, nothing gets thrown away. Not headphones, not speakers, and not even Henri’s Alfa Romeo – even if it deserves it. We have our own service center in Kajaani, where devices are actually repaired. We don’t send you a new one and dump the old one in a landfill like the big corporations do.
This is one of the things that sets us apart. And one reason why the Death Star budget grows slowly.
Warranty repair (24 months)
All Valco devices have a 24-month warranty. If a device breaks during normal use within the warranty period, the repair won’t cost you anything. Zero euros. No hidden fees.
The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects. It does not cover the dog eating the headphones, driving over them with a car, or using them on the sauna bench. You know how it is.
If the warranty has just expired — we’re talking days or weeks — we won’t refuse to help because of that. We’re human.
Repair package outside warranty
If the warranty has expired or the fault is due to your own use, you can purchase a repair package. The price is always a fixed €69.
Typical repairs:
- Battery replacement
- Speaker driver replacement
- Hinge repair
- Electronics repair
- Padding replacement
Hannes and the rest of the service team examine every device individually. No assembly-line diagnostics.
How does the process work?
- Contact us – Send us a message at info@valco.fi. Tell us which device, what the fault is, and include the order number and a photo of the device. A photo speeds things up a lot.
- You’ll get instructions – We’ll tell you whether it’s a warranty repair or a repair package, and provide shipping instructions.
- Send the device to Kajaani – Pack the device properly. It doesn’t have to be the original packaging, but don’t send it in an envelope.
- We repair and test – The service team repairs the device, tests it, and makes sure everything works.
- We send it back – You’ll receive a working device in the mail.
The whole process typically takes about a week, depending on the mail and the service queue.
Before you send it – try this
Many “faults” can be solved without service. Before you pack the device in a box, try these:
- Bluetooth issue: Restart the headphones and the phone. The headphones may be searching for another device.
- Older over-ear headphones: Plug in the AUX cable and unplug it — this works as a reset.
- Pads coming off: They’re designed to be removable. Twist them back into place.
If nothing helps, then off to service.
Why repairing makes sense
A 14-person company can’t compete with Sony or Bose on advertising budgets. But we can do one thing they don’t: repair the device instead of steering you to buy a new one.
It makes sense for you, for us, and for the planet. And less electronic waste means more resources for building the Death Star. Everybody wins.
