Is a trade-in credit available for NL25?
The upgrade itch has hit. Your old NL25s have served faithfully, maybe on a backyard sauna build site, maybe on a shelf at the supermarket next to the fish counter, but now you're eyeing a newer model. And the first question is obviously: do you get anything back for the old ones?
Fair question. Let's go through how it works.
How does trade-in credit work?
Short answer first: our standing trade-in credit (roughly 40-60 euros) applies to VMK over-ear models, meaning VMK19, VMK20, and VMK25. Unfortunately there isn't one for NL25 earbuds, the resale value of earbuds just isn't enough to run a program on. Every now and then we do run campaigns that cover other models too, so it depends on when you happen to be shopping.
In practice:
- Campaign timing varies. We don't keep trade-in credit open year round, we run it as campaigns. Sometimes it's on, sometimes it isn't.
- The condition of the old device matters. Headphones that still work are worth more than ones that have been through a tractor tire and a dog's digestive tract.
- The credit is usually a discount on a new model, not cash. So you send us the old ones and get the new ones cheaper.
We're not a flea market, but we do get the logic that a working device deserves a better fate than a desk drawer.
How to check the current situation
- Check valco.fi, if a trade-in campaign is running, it'll show up there.
- Email info@valco.fi, tell us which model you have and which model you'd like to upgrade to. Our sales team will tell you the current terms.
- Wait for a reply. We usually respond fast, because every sale gets us one step closer to the Death Star.
If there's no campaign running right now, it's still worth asking. Sometimes there's flexibility, especially for long-time customers.
What if the old NL25s are still perfectly fine?
Then you don't need to replace them. We're not the company that pressures you into buying new every year. The NL25 is still an excellent pair of earbuds. If they work and the sound still pleases you, keep them.
But if the upgrade itch is real, say for better ANC performance, longer battery life, or some new feature, trade-in credit is the smartest way to handle it. Old headphones get recycled or refurbished on our end, so the electronics don't end up in a landfill for no reason.
If none of this helps
If the trade-in page won't load, your email vanishes, or you're not sure which model to go for next, message us at info@valco.fi. Tell us:
- Which model you have now (NL25, got it)
- Which model you're considering upgrading to
- Your order number, if you remember it
We'll handle the rest. Nothing more to it, except thanks for the money, it's funding another 0.000001% of the Death Star.
