So the dog got a bit too friendly with your headphones. No worries – this isn't the first or last time a pet decides to stress-test Valco durability using its own methods. The good news is we can fix these. The bad news is your dog won't be paying the bill.
What does the repair cost?
The price depends on what broke. The fork parts, cups, and headband on the VMK15 are all replaceable, so most mechanical damage can be sorted out.
Since this is dog-inflicted damage and not a manufacturing defect, it is not covered by the 24-month warranty. In that case you need our repair service. It costs a flat 69 €, whatever broke, and that price covers the repair, the spare parts and the postage in both directions. On top of that you get one extra year of warranty starting from the repair. You order the repair from our webshop.
We still want to see the damage first. Not to work out the price, that one is already fixed, but to make sure there is enough headphone left to rebuild. So we need from you:
- A photo of the damage – preferably one that actually shows what happened to the fork
- Your order number – you'll find it in your order confirmation
- A short description – what happened and what's broken
Send these to info@valco.fi and we will tell you whether the repair makes sense before you order anything.
What about the Tampere office?
Valco's repair service operates from Kajaani. Unfortunately, we don't have a location in Tampere where repairs could be handled on-site. I know – Kajaani isn't exactly next door, but that's where the wizards sit.
In practice, the repair works like this:
- Send us a photo and your order number by email
- We confirm the headphones are repairable and send you the shipping instructions
- You order the repair from the webshop, a flat 69 € with no hidden extras
- You ship the headphones to Kajaani, and the postage both ways is included in the price
- Hannes and the service team fix them and send them back
Shipping sounds like a hassle, but in reality it's faster than you'd think. And your kid doesn't have to go queue up anywhere.
If you're on the fence
The VMK15 is a budget-friendly headphone, so we totally get it if you are wondering whether repairing is worth it or whether you should just buy a new pair. The price is the same 69 € whatever broke, so you know in advance what you are deciding on. And if the headphones really are in atoms, we will say so instead of taking your money.
But if the damage is just a fork or headband part, repair is almost always the smarter option. And the environment will thank you too, even though we're not exactly a greenwashing company.
So drop us a message at info@valco.fi and we'll get it sorted. You can tell the dog that next time it should chew on something cheaper – maybe start with the owner's slippers.
